Created in an isomorphic way with modern digital media, 15° Piano & Digital Impression by Jieni Wan breaks away from conventional methodology of classical music performance by visualising the emotional expressions interpreted by the artists, which brings the audience an immersive experience with a perfect blend of sound, light and shadow. LIMAGE STUDIO cooperate with pianist Jieni Wan to create unique visual representations of each piece of music by elaborating technology such as motion capture, interactive animation and artificial intelligence.
The theme of the concert, “15° ”, stems from the interaction between music and nature: the “fifteen degrees” in temperament contains 24 musical notes; while in the 24 solar terms of traditional Chinese calendars, the sun’s movement traces every fifteen degrees as a solar term. During the concert, fifteen classical pieces by Chinese and foreign composers, including Chopin, Grieg, Debussy, Liszt, Tan Dun, and Ding Shande, will be organized under the subject of four natural seasons while by the 15 solar terms. Notes that flow from the artist’s fingertips will be transformed by technology into fluctuating impressions of nature, illustrating the magic connection between music, seasons, and digital algorithms.
演奏会的概念 “15° ” ，源于音乐与自然的交互:音律中的 “十五度” 包含了二十四个音符;在自 然的二十四节气中，太阳运动轨迹以每十五度为一个节气。包括肖邦、格里格、德彪西、李斯特、谭盾、 丁善德等中外作曲家的十五首经典乐曲将以自然季节为题，按照岁月编排组织。演奏家指间的音符 将通过科技幻化成气象万千的自然印象，诠释出音乐、自然季节与数字算法间的奇妙关联。
Extracted from different solar terms in advance, a series of parameters, which includes information on temperature and weather changes in different seasons as well as the flowering periods of different plants, were imported into the program of animation. These natural data influence and frame the visual content, presenting themselves as the illusions of light and shadow dancing on the stage.
在新媒体动画的生成过程中还提取了自然节气中的一系列参数，包括不同季节的气温、天气变 化信息，不同植物的花期等，自然的数据影响和构筑了视觉内容，包括舞台中舞动着的光影幻象。
The mystery of numbers is widely present in every corner of nature. Through explorations of the interrelated digital codes between the 24 solar terms and the art of music, we incorporate the sampled multi-dimensional information into a generic process of the new media animation, where algorithmic technology allows for perfect interactions between music and nature.
数字的奥秘广泛存在于大自然的每一个角落，我们探究自然节气与音乐艺术中相互关联的数字 密码，并将采样的多维信息谱进新媒体动画的生成过程，算法科技让音乐与自然实现完美交互。
The new media technology team takes advantage of motion capture, depth image capture, and 3D scanning to digitize the various nuances of the pianist's performance and map them into the computer program along with a series of rich timbral variations. Thanks to digital technology, powerful algorithms can effectively analyze, extract, and interpret the artist's emotions and spirituality, providing a fused audio-visual experience for spectators. Moreover, the visual design also introduces a crossover collaboration between traditional puppeteers and motion capture technology, contributing rich humanity to artistic creation.
新媒体技术团队运用动作捕捉、深度图像采集、3D 扫描等方式采样钢琴家演奏过程中的各种细 微状态，并连同丰富音色变化一并映射入计算机程序，数字技术带来的强大算力能有效分析、提取、 并演绎艺术家的情感与灵性，为观众带来融合的视听体验。此外在视觉设计中，也引入了传统操偶 师与动作捕捉技术的跨界合作，在艺术创作中赋予更多人情味。
